Air Force mascot, The Bird, makes All-America mascot team
U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo.
The Bird from the Air Force Academy has been named to the seventh annual Capital One All-America Mascot Team,
made up of 12 over-sized and often under-appreciated characters -
including three birds, three cats, one bison, one horse, one wolf, one turtle, one bear and a dog.
Each of the mascots will be putting their best claw, paw, hoof and talon forward while attempting to claim
the title of "Capital One National Mascot of the Year."

The winner will be announced during the Capital One Bowl on Jan. 1.
The Bird will be competing in a weekly one-one-one battle with a different mascot. The fan vote is the sole
determinant of the winner; the people choose. Voting consists of 11 weekly head-to-furry-head match ups between
the All-Americans, with fans being able to vote daily for their favorite mascots. The mascots with the
best win/loss records face off in online playoffs starting in November.
The winner will be pronounced Capital One National Mascot of the Year on January 1, 2009 during the Capital One Bowl.

The All Academy Ball is a full dress dinner/dance for parents, cadets/mid-shipmen,
and guests of the Air Force, Naval, Military, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine Service Academies.

One group cadet/midshipmen 6x8 photo will be provided complimentary to each cadet/midshipmen attending the ball.
Additional group photos may be purchased for $10.00 each.
Showtime Pictures will be available to take your individual and family photos.
There will be three backgrounds to choose from and the following prices will apply:
Academy Ball Special: [6x8 + wallets package] - $20.00 (a $5.00 savings)
Each additional [6x8] - $10.95
Each additional [set of wallets] - $5.00
Keychains and magnet frames for additional charge - $3.00
These photos are optional and produced onsite, so you will leave the ball with them in hand.
Payment is made directly to Showtime Pictures.

Rando Fund Information
The Rando Fund has teamed up with Entertainment Book Company
to support Cadets through a fundraiser.
The books will ship the first week of August, but if you are planning on
getting a book for COS have it sent to your cadet and you can retrieve
it or use it while at PW.
The books are great as gifts, for cadets, family, friends, newlyweds,
birthdays, sponsor families, co-workers, coaches, teachers, yourself, etc.
Please consider getting books as holiday gifts too! The price is right and
there is nothing wrong with helping others save money, and everyone
can use the books.
You can pick any books from any city and the Rando fund will get credit.
The fundraiser will run through 11/30 and all money will then be sent to the
Rando Fund. Anything over 50 books gives the Rando Fund a 50% profit!!!!
Please send this link to anyone and everyone you know because they are also
welcome to order and benefit the Rando Fund.
We need to make this fundraiser a HUGE success!
The company has a referral program also. Should you know of anyone who wants
to use the books as a fund raiser, please refer them because the
Rando Fund will get a cash bonus based on those sales too, so please give
them the link. More than likely, your schools, local groups, and
church groups may consider this item as a fundraiser.
